IN AND AROUND HERMANUS
As its name implies, this authentic 19th-century cottage specialises in the ocean’s bounty. Although most renowned for its gigantic seafood platters, there is also an extensive menu. Sit outside on the wooden benches when the sun’s out, or inside the cosy interior on chilly evenings – decked with colourful paraffin lanterns and seaside antiques.
THE GALLERY CAFÉ
This has been the ‘number 1’ in Hermanus for some time now and is well worth a visit. This self-proclaimed “lifestyle” eatery is situated in the tranquil and idyllic courtyard of the Walkerbay Art Gallery.
